Peru seeks to streamline trade and passenger transport on borders with Chile and Bolivia

The Ministry of Foreign Trade and Tourism (Mincetur) of Peru reported this Wednesday (28.09.2022) that it has been leading a series of meetings that will boost international trade and passenger transport on the Peruvian borders with Chile and Bolivia.

To this end, he met with Representatives of various government entities, as well as cargo and passenger control from Puno and Tacna, at the Mincetur headquarters. This was carried out in person and virtually.

Representatives from the Ministry of Foreign Trade and Tourism, regional governments of Tacna and Puno, National Superintendence of Migration, Zofratacna, Senasa, Promperú, Customs offices of Tacna, Puno, and the central headquarters of Sunat.

“With this meeting we have gathered the will of the present authorities to resolve the problems that arise from the health alert in which we live. There are budgetary limitations, but with a coordinated work "Service will be improved. This is done for the benefit of all, with the work and commitment of the Peruvian government," said the Deputy Minister of Foreign Trade, Miguel Palomino De La Gala.

In this regard, the senior official described this meeting as very fruitful, given the initial results obtained. In addition, a new follow-up meeting will be held shortly.

“This afternoon's meeting was positive, due to the importance of strengthening coordination between Mincetur and the authorities controlling the movement of goods, means of transport and passengers. We will seek reduce times and costs to exporters, importers and passengers in general,” concluded Vice Minister Miguel Palomino De La Gala.
