The National Service for Agri-Food Health and Quality (Senasa) has established the use of the Plant Health Transit Document (DTV) for the fresh transport of roots, bulbs and tubers destined for consumption and industrialization in Patagonia.
This is established by the Joint Provision 3/2018 published this Friday (15.6.2018) in the Official Gazette.
Products
The rule governs the transport of sweet potato; dad; indigenous tubers and other species of Solanum sect. Tuberarium; garlic and onion that are marketed in Argentina, whether imported or exported, regardless of their origin.
Objective
The measure aims to verify the traceability of these products by knowing their identification, origin and final destination, to safeguard the phytosanitary status of the area free of foot and mouth disease and take care of the health of table.
The DTV allows us to know the origin of the merchandise and obtain information so that, in the event of food alerts, we can locate the affected batches and verify where the problem has been recorded and solve it.
The Provision establishes sanctions for those who do not comply with it, without prejudice to any immediate preventive measures that may be adopted.
Certificate of origin
Also, the standard renders the obligation null and void of the Certificate of Origin in the production area for the onion fresh and the period of validity thereof established by Provision 9/2002 of the former Coordination of Quarantines, Borders and Certifications of Senasa and repeals articles 9, 10 and 14 of Resolution No. 363/2015 of Senasa, referring to the Andean tuber transit document and articles 1 and 3 of Resolution SAGPyA 42/98.
Validity
The mandatory use of health support for loads will come into force from 120 days (October 2018).
