The National Service of Health and Agri-Food Quality (Senasa) certified, during the days 22 and 23 of May of 2018, the First export of 90 tons of sheep meat and bone meal to the United States from the city of Río Gallegos, via Puerto Deseado, province of Santa Cruz.

According to the agency's statement, the staff of the Senasa Southern Patagonia Regional Center controlled from the supply of raw materials and the storage process to the export certification of the products not suitable for human consumption and used mainly as a by-product for balanced pet food.

The total merchandise was loaded in five containers from Official Establishment No. 2553, Frigorífico Faimali SA, to Puerto Deseado, from where the vessel will depart towards its final destination.

Senasa verified the documentary and certification requirements that the United States requires for these products, according to the memorandum of understanding agreed between both countries to carry out the export: the first from Southern Patagonia and the only one in the country.
