Authorities from Paraguay and Russia will sign the “Agreement on Cooperation and Mutual Assistance in Customs Matters” on Tuesday, December 10.
The document aims to provide greater coverage and strengthen economic and trade relations between the two countries, the Foreign Ministry said.
This instrument will provide legal coverage and security to economic operators from both countries, prevent illegal acts, promote a fluid exchange of information and mutual cooperation in customs matters, as well as a series of measures that contribute to the facilitation and deepening of bilateral trade.
The agreement will be signed by the National Director of Customs, Julio Fernández Frutos, for the Republic of Paraguay, and by the Deputy Director of the Federal Customs Service, Vladimir V. Ivin, for the Russian Federation.
The Russian Federation is Paraguay's third largest trading partner. In addition to having a positive trade balance in recent years, it is a benchmark market in terms of trade and commercial relations par excellence.
It is also the second destination market for Paraguayan meat exports and the leading buyer of beef in terms of volume so far in 2019.
