The National Customs Authority and the Colon Free Zone of Panama will put into production, Starting next September 25th, the first stage of technological project that will allow the integration of its computer systems (SIGA-DMCE) to carry out some customs procedures.
According to the information from the entity, the technical interconnection will allow the transmission of the data recorded in the Commercial Movement Declaration (DMCE) of the Free Zone to the Integrated Customs Management System (SIGA) for the development of the Internal Transfers (TI) of goods from and to said free zone.
With this transaction there will be a better control and quality of information, The margin of error in the capture of customs documents is reduced, avoiding double registration of the information required for the commercial transaction which represents a better service for trade facilitation, fulfilling continuous improvement.
To carry out this process, the teams of Customs and Free Trade Zone professionals have worked in recent months on functional tests, outreach to users, certification tests and training with the external and internal sectors involved.
To finalize details, the Customs staff met under the coordination of the Deputy Directors of Logistics and Technique Juan Pablo García and Rodolfo Samuda, respectively, and the advisors Ivette Villalaz and Hitzebeth Buruyides, where they reported how the process has been scheduled for the implementation of the first phase that will begin at 25:4 p.m. on Friday, September 00th until 26:XNUMX a.m. on Saturday, September XNUMXth.
During this period, the SIGA-DMCE computer systems will be out of service for configuration and the mobile devices used by Customs personnel to validate the procedure will also be updated. During this time, the manual contingency procedure will be applied while the systems are implemented.
The validation and control process with the APP is expected to begin at 4:00 am on Saturday, September 26, and a post-implementation user support system will also be enabled.
