New deadlines for filing VAT and profits for companies are made official

-

The Federal Public Revenue Administration (AFIP) legitimized the implementation of special deadlines for the presentation and payment of income tax and value added tax (VAT) returns for companies, through the General Resolution 4714/2020.

The legislation, published this Wednesday (13.05.2020) in the Official Gazette, expanded the payment facility plans to guarantee more financial relief tools for companies affected by the coronavirus.

The measure is intended to make it easier for taxpayers and responsible parties to comply with their tax obligations, in order to cushion the negative impact.

In this way, medium and large companies will be able to double the number of permanent payment plans they have, which will give them the possibility of presenting up to a total of six plans compared to the three currently in force.

The plans cover Social Security, VAT and internal tax obligations.

For small and medium-sized businesses, the possibility of including deferred VAT in their incentive plans will be enabled.

The AFIP indicated that "it seeks to contain the sector at a time of stress in the payment chain."

"Today, regulations allow SMEs to defer VAT payments for 60 days to cushion the difference between the amount received and the amount accrued, and deferred VAT can be included in a payment plan," sources from the agency explained to Télam.

In addition, the regulations suspend the controls of the Risk Profile System (Siper) in May, in the payment facility plans of Profits.

Likewise, all companies, regardless of the category in which they are located, will be able to access a plan of up to three installments to pay Income Tax.

The AFIP also postponed by two weeks the deadline for filing the sworn declaration and paying the corresponding profits tax for companies that close their fiscal year in December.

The due dates scheduled for May 13, 14 and 15 will thus be moved to May 26 and 27.

The AFIP also decided to postpone the deadline for submitting financial statements, so that companies that closed their fiscal years in November and were due to submit them on May 29 will be able to do so until the end of June.

Finally, the filing of the sworn declaration and payment of VAT corresponding to the fiscal period April 2020 will be postponed to May 20, 21 and 22.
