Foreigners who wish to settle in Argentina must present a certificate of no criminal record for the last 10 years.
The measure was established through the provision 1027/2019 published this Wednesday (6.3.2019) in the Official Gazette, which states that the Government's objective is to establish greater control over immigrants and prevent the entry of criminals into Argentina.
Thus, the regulations establish that the certificate, required by the National Directorate of Migration for all relevant procedures, "must contain complete and clear information about the person, as well as all criminal records perfectly individualized, dating back ten years.".
Among its considerations, the text recalls that Migration Law No. 25.871 establishes "the fundamental political lines and strategic bases in migration matters, regulating the admission, entry, stay and exit of people to the country."
Decree No. 616/10 establishes that the The National Directorate of Migration will determine the requirements and procedures for processing applications for residency," he added.
