The Secretary of Entrepreneurship and SMEs, Mariano Mayer, highlighted the role of small and medium-sized enterprises as tools for long-term growth, during the Third Global Ministerial Conference of the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD) held in Mexico City.

"It is evident that the subject is becoming more relevant at an international level. Argentina is playing an important role in setting the challenges and the role of small and medium-sized enterprises" , said Mayer at the meeting which covered several topics.

"The most important barriers faced by entrepreneurs and SMEs in adopting digital technologies are the lack of access to information on global markets and value chains, limited financing options and limited availability of managerial skills.", he pointed out

The meeting, which took place in Mexico City and was attended by delegations from 56 countries, aims to contribute to the resolution of current problems faced by SMEs and entrepreneurs, the Ministry of Production stressed.

He also said that Mayer "was part of a working group that discussed various initiatives to attract foreign investors to the local economy."
