Argentina: Hygienic-sanitary requirements for egg transport modified

The National Food Health and Quality Service (Senasa) modified the hygiene and health requirements for the transport of eggs through Resolution 175/2018.

La published standard This Thursday (31.5.2018) in the Official Gazette with the signature of the head of Senasa, Ricardo Luis Negri, has "the purpose of contributing to food safety to present advantages and benefits for the consumer, preserving its quality, its conservation and its properties," details the consideration.

New requirements

Based on this, the Conditioning of products for transport has the following new specific requirements:

k) The eggs in shell They must be transported in vehicles authorized by Senasa and protected from weather agents, which is why the trucks, vehicles or equipment used to transport eggs must be isothermal, categories "A", "B" and "C", in order to avoid weather conditions and environmental temperatures.

l) The cold-preserved eggs, must be transported in category “A” or “B” vehicles, depending on the duration of the transport.

The measure will come into effect on June 1, 2018.
