Aviation security regulations for passenger control modified

-

The Government modified the Aviation Security Regulations regarding the control of legitimate passenger travel documents, through the provision 973/2019.

The regulations, published this Tuesday (22.10.2019) in the Official Gazette, contemplate the use of technological means, and airport risk levels as a determining factor for differentiation in the implementation of security measures.

The purpose of the measure is to "streamline administrative procedures, reduce time that affects those under administration and eliminate regulations whose application generates unnecessary costs," says the official text.

It clarifies that "it combines state objectives without losing sight of the fact that the protection of the restricted security zone of the airport jurisdiction constitutes one of the fundamental actions for the preservation of civil aviation against acts of illicit interference, for which the control of access of passengers to the sterile sector through their identification by means of legitimate travel documents is appropriate."

The order is signed by the national director of the Airport Security Police, Alejandro Itzcovich Griot.
