Trade ministers from the Group of 20 major economies agreed on Monday (30.03.2020) to step up cooperation and coordination to ensure the continued flow of vital medical supplies and equipment, as well as other essential elements to curb the rapid spread of the coronavirus.
In a joint statement, G-20 ministers said they will take "immediate necessary measures"» to facilitate such commercial activity and encourage production.
They also agreed that all emergency measures should be "specific, proportionate, transparent and temporary" and will work to keep their markets open.
Trade authorities also said they will do their utmost to prevent speculation and unjustified price increases, and will strive to ensure the availability of medical supplies and drugs at affordable prices.
