In addition to facilitating trade and travel flows between both countries and strengthening cooperation in public security in the border region.
Mexico and the U.S. “committed to continued collaboration on border infrastructure, the results of which are exemplified by the recent completion of the expansion project at the El Chaparral-San Ysidro Port of Entry, the most heavily used tourist-oriented land port in the Western Hemisphere.”
In order to facilitate the mobility of commercial goods and travelers during 2020, the implementation of low-cost and high-impact strategies will continue to simplify customs and immigration inspections..
These measures also seek to reduce waiting times, such as the Joint Cargo Inspection Program and Trusted Traveler Program in North America (Trusted Traveler Mexico, Global Entry and NEXUS).
