Mexico appoints new head of National Customs Agency

President Andrés Manuel López Obrador announced this Wednesday (07.12.2022) Rafael Marin Mollinedo , the New head of Mexico's National Customs Agency (ANAM), which will be submitted to the Congress of the Union for ratification.

"On the instructions of the President, the Secretary of the Interior, Adán Augusto López Hernández, swore office to the new head of ANAM," the official statement said.

Rafael Marín Mollinedo holds a degree in Economics from the National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM). During the current administration, he served as general director of the Interoceanic Corridor of the Isthmus of Tehuantepec (CIIT) and head of the Federal Authority for the Development of Special Economic Zones.

Previously, he was the General Director of Urban Services of the Secretariat of Public Works and Services of the Federal District, as well as the General Director of the Passenger Transport Network, attached to the Secretariat of Transport and Roads. He has also worked in the private sector.
