As of this Tuesday (18.12.2018) the second alert for the chemical/biological control of the grapevine moth in Valle de Uco, province of Mendoza, comes into effect, under the responsibility of the National Service for Agri-Food Health and Quality (Senasa) and the Mendoza Institute for Agricultural Health and Quality (Iscamen).
Applications
This action of the National Program for the Prevention and Eradication of Lobesia botrana requires producers to start applications with authorized products whose residual power is enough to keep the crop protected until December 30.
Fine for those who do not comply
Senasa foresees sanctions for those who do not comply with the control of the second generation of the pest, this being mandatory in farms that have not implemented the sexual confusion technique.
Recommendations
Senasa recommends consulting the winery or company that sells the products. about the established residue limits. In addition, it highlights that producers must apply products authorized by Senasa and keep the containers used on the farm along with the field form.
Please note that the alert is in effect in the Northern, Eastern and Southern Oases. since December 7, whose producers had to start the applications on that date and thus keep the vineyard protected until December 20.
