AFIP creates a Committee on Public Integrity and Ethics

The Federal Public Revenue Administration (AFIP) created a “Public Integrity and Ethics Committee”, through the Provision 140/2020, published this Friday (14.08.2020/XNUMX/XNUMX) in the Official Gazette.

The regulations state that the Committee will be responsible for the powers established in the “Regulations of the Committee on Integrity and Public Ethics”, which is part of the provision as an Annex.

The decision aims to develop a coherent and comprehensive system in the Agency regarding integrity., not only within public institutions but also among non-state actors involved in tax, customs and social security administration.

The text explains that "A task of this nature involves preventing both corruption by public officials and the diversion of policies towards particular interests.«. And he adds «that from a comprehensive approach, tax evasion, avoidance and fraud also constitute facts that must be addressed from the perspective of integrity and public ethics, in order to Promote mutual commitments between the State, economic actors and citizens«.

The regulations state that "the Committee on Integrity and Public Ethics will be made up of the highest authorities of the Agency competent in the areas of internal control, legality control, human resources, planning and technical-institutional coordination, which will advise the Federal Administration on matters of integrity and transparency policies."

The provision, signed by the head of the AFIP, Mercedes Marcó del Pont, will come into force ten (10) calendar days after the date of its publication.
