Chilean Customs created a mobile application where online procedures can be carried out

As part of the digitalization carried out by the Government of Chile, the National Customs Service launched a mobile application CustomsCl for Android.

The platform will allow users to access relevant information for making online purchases from abroad, access online procedures and contact the Service through different channels to make requests.

The virtual launching activity was led by the Undersecretary of Finance, Francisco Moreno, who highlighted “the fact that today the National Customs Service is on the phone of each and every person, facilitating the approach with the State. I congratulate a century-old institution like Customs that is advancing in digitalization and has this application available to carry out important procedures, simplifying the lives of users, with fewer people in the offices and more people downloading applications like this one.”

For his part, the National Director of Customs, José Ignacio Palma, indicated that “our focus is on bringing the Service closer to the user, facilitating access to information, providing more direct contact and resolving requirements through cell phones.” The application will grow progressively. “We hope that soon citizens will be able to carry out procedures for travelers and for postal shipments, we want to allow the buyer to monitor their shipment if it has entered customs review, access border crossing flows, providing valuable information to the traveler,” stressed the customs authority.

Six online procedures

La APP AduanaCl will allow, in a first stage, to carry out six procedures online: request for Passavantand so that owners of vehicles purchased in a free zone can temporarily leave for another area of ​​the country, request for Qualify the Stay Abroad as Uninterrupted intended for Chileans who live outside the country and who return or for foreigners who will come to work in Chile, application for Certificate of Value for the import of used vehicles and direct payment of taxes to the Treasury for online buyers.

The Treasurer General of the Republic, Ximena Hernández, highlighted the “tremendous progress in digitalization and modernization of the State. We are creating synergy between Customs and the Treasury, strengthening actions to provide information and facilitate the declaration and payment of taxes, for taxpayers, putting the State just one click away from people.”

For companies it is available in the app la Certification of Service as Export that allows entrepreneurs to sell their services outside of Chile, accessing new markets with tax benefits and the Request for Reduction and/or Exemption from Fine for delays in customs clearance or re-exportation for customs agents.

In addition, it will allow users to contact the service more directly, through a contact form, a one-click call to the call center or by direct email to the Customs office in your respective region, thus obtaining faster responses to questions and requests.

Anyone who downloads the AduanaCl application will also be able to find out about the Customs regulations for online purchases from abroad, which will allow them to carry out imports with all the necessary information to bring products into Chile, whether for commercial or personal purposes.

The app, which Coming soon for iOS, will progressively increase the procedures and information available in relation to user requirements.
