In the framework of President Javier Milei's trip to Israel, which began this Monday (05.02.2024/2023/XNUMX), an analysis by the Argentine Chamber of Commerce and Services (CAC) shows that, in XNUMX, bilateral trade was 525 million, 11,8% lower than in 2022.
The data show that bilateral trade fell again, after three years of continuous growth, with trade between both parties maintaining a value of more than 500 million dollars, a value only reached between 2021 and 2023. This drop in bilateral trade is largely explained by the drop in Argentine exports (in quantity) due to the severe drought that affected the country and the drop in international prices.
In 2023, the exports from Argentina to Israel were 341 million dollars, marking a 15% drop compared to the previous year. Among the main products Exported products included boneless, frozen beef (37,2%), boneless, fresh or chilled beef (29,3% of the total) and grain corn (5,9%).
Furthermore, the Argentine imports from Israel they reached the 184 million, implying a decrease of 5,1% compared to 2022. The main products Imported products were herbicides, packaged for retail sale with 10,4%, polyethylene density greater than 0,94, unfilled, in primary forms with 10,2% and switching devices, disconnectors and commutators with 6%.
El trade balance between Argentina and Israel recorded a surplus of 157 million dollars in 2023, which reflected a worsening compared to 2022, given that the bilateral trade balance had shown a surplus of 207 million dollars. Since 2001, without interruption, the trade balance began to be positive, reaching the largest surplus in 2021 with 214 million dollars, then followed by 2022 and further back to 2009.
On the other hand, Argentine exports averaged 2021 million dollars between 2023 and 370, a value higher than previous periods such as between 2007 and 2012 when they averaged 230 million dollars. Meanwhile, Argentine imports from Israel have grown in the last two years, averaging 189 million dollars.
