The outlook remains complicated: imports have soared by 32,1% and the trade deficit has already reached US$986 million (versus just US$51 million in the same month in 2017) and promises to reach the US$10.000 billion mark in 2018.

In January, exports totaled US$ 4.750 billion and imports US$ 5.736 billion. In terms of quantities, the former rose 4,6% and the latter 26,2%.

At a disaggregated level, all export items rose with the exception of Manufactures of Agricultural Origin (MOA), which fell by 8,8%.

The sector will be important energetic, the impact that strengthening our will have exports of the industrial sector and the agro-food complex with Asia.

"The negative trade balance will only end when 'we have the energy sector corrected again', which has been in high deficit for a decade," warned Dante. Sica to the New Words agency.
