This week, the CXIII Ordinary Meeting of the MERCOSUR Common Market Group (GMC) is being held in Brasilia, Brazil, convened by the Brazilian Pro Tempore Presidency, with the aim of discussing the central issues of the bloc's agenda of commitments and priorities for the second half of the year, according to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of that country.
The meeting's agenda includes economic and commercial issues, institutional aspects and the bloc's external relations., among which the review of the Common External Tariff, the draft MERCOSUR Trade Facilitation Agreement, FOCEM, Registry of Geographical Indications, among others, stand out. They will also follow up on the work of the different technical bodies dependent on the Common Market Group and the approval of draft MERCOSUR regulations is expected.
Likewise, within the framework of the GMC Meeting, technical meetings were held by the Ad Hoc Group to Examine the Consistency and Dispersion of the Common External Tariff (GAHAEC), the Automotive Committee (CA) and the Ad Hoc Group on Regulatory Issues (GAHTR).
