Government increases rebates on car exports

-

The Government has decided to increase the rebates for car sales within Mercosur, which will be from 2% to 6,5%.

This is established by the decree 338 / 2019 published in the Official Gazette this Wednesday (8.5.2019) signed by the President of the Nation, Mauricio Macri, the Chief of Staff, Marcos Peña, and the Ministers of Production and Labor, Dante Sica, and Finance, Nicolás Dujovne.

The regulations say: «The levels of the Export Refund (RE) established in Annex I of Decree No. 1126 dated December 29, 2017 and its amendments are replaced by those indicated for each of the tariff items of the Common Nomenclature of MERCOSUR (NCM) that make up the following Annex«:

Through this measure, the rates on export refunds for this merchandise will be unified in order to remove certain distortions that need to be eliminated, "caused by a contractionary dynamic, impacting the entire value chain," the recital explains.

The application of this provision will come into effect as of May 9, 2019.
