The Government has established an Exceptional Automatic Extension of 30 calendar days, starting from March 12, 2020, to the Foreign Sales Declarations (DJVE) in force within the framework of the registration of foreign sales of agricultural products, through Resolution 36/2020.
The measure, published this Friday (20.03.2020) in a supplementary edition of the Official Gazette, specifies that it is a "Exceptional Automatic Extension" that "will not apply to those Foreign Sales Affidavits (DJVE) that have been registered after March 12, 2020.
The Undersecretariat of Agricultural Markets was empowered by the resolution to "issue the complementary and clarifying regulations that are necessary for the implementation of this measure within the scope of its competence, as well as any future adjustments that are essential to maintain the normal flow of agricultural product export operations."
The decision must be implemented through the General Directorate of Customs and the Federal Administration of Public Revenue "in order to adopt the necessary precautions for the implementation of this measure in the Malvinas Information System (SIM) and in the Argentine Foreign Trade Single Window (VUCEA)«.
The registration of foreign sales of agricultural products through a system of Foreign Sales Declarations (DJVE) was implemented with the aim of facilitating exports without affecting domestic supply.
The resolution considered it necessary to adopt concrete measures to minimize the consequences of the advance of the pandemic and its implications for agricultural exports, taking into account the restrictions imposed by different countries, which directly or indirectly affect logistics linked to ships, ports, plants and borders, and consequently, the operations themselves.
"In order to avoid affecting operations related to the foreign market, it is considered essential that, for strict reasons of opportunity, merit and/or convenience, the registered and current Foreign Sales Declarations (DJVE) be granted an Exceptional Automatic Extension of 30 calendar days, counted from March 12, 2020," the official text adds.
