Government decrees mandatory isolation for Argentina

The national government ordered the isolation required from this Friday until March 31, to combat the spread of the coronavirus, according to him decree 297 / 2020.

The measure, published this Friday (20.03.2020/XNUMX/XNUMX) in the Official Gazette, establishes for all people who live in the country or are temporarily in it, the “social, preventive and mandatory isolation” from the 20 until March 31 inclusive of the current year, this period may be extended for as long as deemed necessary in light of the epidemiological situation.

To ensure that people do not circulate, four officers will be deployed throughout the country. federal forces — Federal Police, National Gendarmerie, Naval Prefecture and Airport Security Police — to which will be added the local police forces of each municipality.

The official text clarifies that "when the existence of infringement" Upon compliance with the measure, the offending conduct will be stopped, within the framework of Criminal Code.

Exempted from this measure are national government officials, provincial and municipal officials linked to political leadership, health workers, security forces and the Armed Forces, food producers, those related to the maintenance of basic services, among others.

Similarly, Those returning from their trip in the coming days will have to undergo a 14-day quarantine, even if they do not have symptoms, due to possible contact with people infected with coronavirus.

Below is the list of exceptions to the “mandatory social, preventive and isolation”:

1. Health personnel, security forces, armed forces, immigration activities, national meteorological service, firefighters and air traffic control.

2. Senior authorities of the national, provincial, municipal and Autonomous City of Buenos Aires governments. Workers of the national, provincial, municipal and Autonomous City of Buenos Aires public sectors, summoned to guarantee essential activities required by the respective authorities.

3. Justice services staff on duty, as established by the competent authorities.

4. Foreign diplomatic and consular personnel accredited to the Argentine government, within the framework of the Vienna Convention on Diplomatic Relations and the 1963 Vienna Convention on Consular Relations, and personnel of international organizations accredited to the Argentine government, the Red Cross and the White Helmets.

5. People who need to assist other people with disabilities; family members who need assistance; elderly people; children and adolescents.

6. People who must deal with a situation of force majeure.

7. Persons involved in the performance of funeral services, burials and cremations. Within this framework, activities that involve
gathering of people.

8. People affected by the care of school, community and snack bar canteens.

9. Personnel working in audiovisual, radio and graphic communication services.

10. Personnel affected by public works.

11. Wholesale and retail supermarkets and local retail stores. Pharmacies. Hardware stores. Veterinarians. Provision of gas cylinders.

12. Food industries, their production chain and supplies; personal hygiene and cleaning; medical equipment, medicines, vaccines and other health supplies.
13. Activities related to agricultural and fishing production, distribution and marketing.

14. Telecommunications activities, fixed and mobile internet and digital services.

15. Unavoidable activities related to foreign trade.

16. Collection, transportation and treatment of urban solid waste,
dangerous and pathogenic.

17. Maintenance of basic services (water, electricity, gas, communications, etc.) and emergency response.

18. Public transport of passengers, transport of goods, oil,
fuels and LPG.

19. Home delivery of food, medicines, hygiene products, etc.
cleaning and other necessary supplies.

20. Laundry services.

21. Postal and parcel delivery services.

22. Essential surveillance, cleaning and guard services.

23. Minimum guards to ensure the operation and maintenance of oil and gas fields, oil and gas treatment and/or refining plants, transportation and distribution of electric power, liquid fuels, oil and gas, fuel dispensing stations and electric power generators.

24. SE Casa de Moneda, ATM services, cash transport and all those activities that the Central Bank of the Argentine Republic deems essential to guarantee the operation of the payment system.

Argentina is located in containment phase to prevent the spread of the virus.
