The Government of the Nation granted state workers administrative leave for Christmas Eve and New Year's Eve, so state agencies will not provide attention to the public on Tuesday, December 24 and 31, through the decree 45/2019.

The measure of the Executive Branch, published this Thursday (18.12.2019) in the Official Gazette, says that the days Tuesday 24th and 31st are work days, and these dates "They are traditionally a reason for celebration for Argentine and foreign families living in our territory.".

Furthermore, the regulations explain that the objective is “In order to facilitate traditional family gatherings, it is considered appropriate to enable those who, for various reasons, live far from their loved ones to come together."The national government considered it appropriate to grant public administration staff time off on Christmas Eve and the day before the start of 2020.

The decree instructs “the various agencies to implement the necessary measures to maintain the continuity of essential services.”

 Meanwhile, It is clarified that this measure does not apply to banking institutions and financial entities..

The measure is signed by President Alberto Fernández, the Chief of Staff, Sanitago Cafiero, and the Minister of the Interior, Eduardo De Pedro.
