FREE SHOPS: AFIP UPDATED FRANCHISE FOR TRAVELERS

-

The Federal Public Revenue Administration has established that the tax-free allowance for purchases in duty-free shops will be raised from 300 to 500 dollars (or its equivalent in another currency) for those travelers entering the country. For minors under 16 years of age, the allowance will be reduced to half the value, that is, 250 dollars.

This is established by the General Resolution 4181/2017 which supports equalizing the franchise with visible values in Mecosur.

Meanwhile, purchases for the door to door regime Orders made by Official Mail, whose value does not exceed 25 dollars, will be sent to the home without the need to complete the postal shipment affidavit as required by other purchases.

This facilitation does not extend to shipments made by Courier and does not imply that Customs will stop controlling this type of shipment.

The measure was launched through the General Resolution 4182, published this Thursday (4.01.2018/XNUMX/XNUMX) in the Official Gazette.
