New rates for services at the Port of Buenos Aires are set

-

The General Port Administration (AGP) established a new tariff table for services in the Port of Buenos Aires through the resolution 98/2019.

The measure, published this Wednesday (31.07.2019) in the Official Gazette, modifies the application rules, values and tariff structure that were approved in 2017 for port services and use of docks for coastal vessels, vessel certificates, vessels being scrapped, inactive vessels and cargo services.

The regulations include a surcharge for those coastal or overseas vessels and naval artifacts entering the Port of Buenos Aires, with the aim of “discouraging the permanence of inactive vessels.”

The measure will group into a single rate to those ships and naval artifacts of coastal or overseas shipping entering the Port of Buenos Aires that are in a situation of dismantling, scrapping, construction or major repair, with a surcharge similar to that applied to inactivity.

The text says that a surcharge will be set for the prolonged stay of any coastal or overseas vessel and naval craft that does not carry out operations in the facilities of the Port of Buenos Aires, in order to “limit” such stays.

New tariff table

Port use services for coastal vessels without frequent use certificate: US$ 0,075 per net registered ton (NRT) for each entry, and a minimum to be settled of US$ 33. For the use of the dock, US$ 0,0250 NRT per day and a minimum to be settled of US$ 11 per day.

Quarterly certificate, in the case of coastal vessels with a certificate of frequent use: US$ 1,19 per ton for general vessels; US$ 3.500 for passenger vessels and US$ 700 for tugboats.

Inactivity, dismantling, scrapping, construction or repair higher: minimum of US$ 800 per month.
