Argentina: Beef exports grew by 60%

During the first four months of 2018, beef exports increased by 60% Compared to the same period in 2017, add 145.276 tons equivalent to bone-in beef which, according to the survey carried out by the Undersecretariat of Livestock of the Ministry of Agroindustry of the Nation, had as their main destinations China (37,5%) and the European Union (27,9%).

The decisions taken by the National Government in support of production and the liberalization of exports gave rise to this growing dynamic in the activity. This allowed, on the one hand, that only in the month of April, shipments rose to 35.918 tons equivalent to bone-in beef, which also marks an increase of 60% compared to what was sold in the same month of 2017; as well as a higher domestic consumption (which is above 59 kilograms per inhabitant per year).

Note that the Production grew 11,4% between January and April, totaling 992.504 tons equivalent to bone-in beef, as a result of a 10,2% increase in slaughter, which totaled 4.375.728 heads.
