The national government exempted foreigners from jurisdictions that are exempt from visa requirements for entry to the United States and the European Union from the Argentine consular visa requirement, through the Decree 746 / 2029.
The measure published in the Official Gazette states: «Foreigners from jurisdictions that are exempt from visa requirements for entry to the United States of America and the European Union States that make up the Schengen Area are exempt from the Argentine consular visa requirement. of free movement of persons or other States that form part of the Schengen area, when their entry into the country is temporary. To obtain the benefit, the foreigners in question must have the Electronic Travel Authorization (AVE)
The official text explains that the decision is based on "trusting the control mechanisms that some countries carry out for the issuance of their visas, in order to consider the verifications that Argentine consular officials usually carry out as fulfilled, in cases where they have obtained the visa from countries that meet rigorous control criteria according to the criteria of the Argentine authorities."
