New parameters are established to define what an SME is

The national government set new conditions to consider the size of SMEs according to their turnover and the number of employees each has.

He did it through the Resolution 154 / 2018 of the Ministry of Production published in the Official Gazette this Wednesday (9.5.2018).

BILLING

Micro enterprise. The limit for total annual sales to be considered in the agricultural sector was increased from three to 3,8 million pesos; from 3,5 million to 4,6 million pesos in services; from 4,7 million to 5,9 million pesos in construction; from 10,5 million to 13,4 million pesos in industry and mining, and from 12,5 million to 15,8 million pesos in commerce.

Small business. The limit was increased from 19 million to 23,9 million pesos in the agricultural sector; from 21 million to 27,6 million pesos in services; from 30 million to 37,7 million pesos in construction; from 64 million to 81,4 million pesos in industry and mining, and from 75 million to 95 million pesos in commerce.

Medium-sized company. Two brackets were established for each sector, always depending on its turnover. In bracket one, the limit went from 145 million to 182,4 million pesos in the agricultural sector; from 175 million to 230,3 million pesos in services; from 240 million to 301,9 million pesos in construction; from 520 million to 661,2 million pesos for industry and mining, and from 630 million to 798,2 million pesos for trade.

In the second tranche, the limit increased from 230 million to 289,3 million pesos in agriculture; from 250 million to 328,9 million pesos in services; from 360 million to 452,8 million pesos in construction; from 760 million to 966,3 million pesos in industry and mining and from 900 million to 1.140,3 million pesos in trade.

Personal

A limit was also set on the number of personnel employed for each category and sector.

Micro enterprise. The maximum number of employed personnel is five people for the agricultural sector; seven for trade and services; 12 for construction and 15 for industry and mining.

Small business. The limit is 10 for agriculture; 30 for services; 35 for commerce; 45 for construction and 60 for industry and mining.

Medium companyIn section one, the maximum is 50 for the agricultural sector; 125 for commerce; 165 for services; 200 for construction and 235 for industry and mining.

In section two, the limit was set at 215 for agriculture; 345 for commerce; 535 for services; 590 for construction and 655 for industry and mining.
