Requirements are established for exporting companies to be exempt from mandatory isolation

The Government has established a series of requirements that exporting companies must meet in order to be exempt from mandatory quarantine, through the  Resolution 179 / 2020.

The measure of the Ministry of Productive Development, published this Friday (24.04.2020/XNUMX/XNUMX) in the Official Gazette, states that "companies interested in carrying out a manufacturing process with a final export destination must prove that they have with the relevant international purchase orderss ".

Likewise, the regulations indicate that the company to be considered as an "exporter" must “having recorded international sales during the years 2019 and/or 2020”.

The following will also be exempt from mandatory quarantine:specific industrial processes"That is, to any industrial activity that has as its purpose the production of goods intended for the direct provision of the following thirteen activities and/or sectors:

Hardware stores; provision of gas cylinders; maintenance of basic services (water, electricity, gas, communications, etc.) and emergency care; oil and gas fields, oil and gas treatment and/or refining plants, transportation and distribution of electric power, liquid fuels, oil and gas, fuel stations and electric power generators; nuclear power plant operations; production and distribution of biofuel; sale of construction supplies and materials provided by lumberyards; tanneries, sawmills and wood product factories, mattress factories and road and agricultural machinery factories; workshops for maintenance and repair of cars, motorcycles and bicycles, exclusively for public transport, vehicles of the security forces and armed forces, vehicles assigned to health services or to personnel authorized to circulate, in accordance with current regulations; sale of computer supplies; opticians; industries that carry out continuous processes provided they have been duly authorized; manufacture of stoves, heaters and heating appliances for domestic use.

The text clarifies: “The authorizations provided above will become effective at the discretion of the provincial authorities and the Autonomous City of Buenos Aires.s depending on the parameters and epidemiological situation that are evident in each jurisdiction and in accordance with the regulations issued for such purposes by the competent local authorities.”

Thus, the governors or the head of the Buenos Aires Government must send to the Ministry of Productive Development, within 48 hours after the authorization is decided, the details of the establishments in their respective jurisdictions that are exempt from compliance with social, preventive and mandatory isolation.

"It is pertinent to establish parameters and criteria under which the operation of the aforementioned activities and services is authorized, without prejudice to the criteria determined by each jurisdiction based on the parameters and epidemiological situation that are evident in the respective regions and in accordance with the local regulations issued for such purposes," the regulations justify.

The provisions of the resolution, signed by the Minister of Productive Development, Matías Kulfas, come into effect immediately.
