The Belgian company Jan de Nul announced the immediate start of maintenance dredging works at the docking sites of the ports of Ingeniero White, Galván and Rosales and their corresponding accesses and maneuvering areas, in the Bahía Blanca area.
The work was awarded through a bidding process by the Bahía Blanca Port Management Consortium, and the agreement recently signed in the city in southern Buenos Aires will lead to the start of the works that will last 27 months.
The Belgian company is one of the largest companies in maritime and port infrastructure works and has a fleet in the country of six dredgers, equipped with the most modern technology, which It is currently operating on the Paraguay-Paraná Waterway.
In addition, the company built a sand treatment plant for fracking in the city of Diamante, Entre Ríos - the technique used in the unconventional hydrocarbon wells of Vaca Muerta - from which it supplies 10% of the sector's demand.
The company explained that lThe dredging works in Bahía Blanca will have a contract duration of twenty-seven months and will be carried out by the dredger DN 28 which has the water injection dredging system.
In addition, in accordance with the terms of the contract, the company will carry out the corresponding hydrographic surveys prior to the start of operations.
Jan de Nul's manager and project manager, Marcelo Persichini, explained that the works "They will be a key contribution to improving the operation of these ports and making the marketing of cereals, fuels, chemical products, fertilizers, containers and other types of cargo more efficient and competitive."
