The Government of Argentina promulgated the Law No. 27.740, recently approved by Congress, which supports the Agreement for the elimination of additional charges for international roaming for users of MERCOSUR member countries.
This is established by the Decree 376 / 2024, published this Thursday (02.05.2024), in the Official Gazette.
The purpose of this agreement is to establish the guidelines for international roaming services between telecommunications providers that provide mobile telephony, messaging and mobile data telecommunications services in the member states of MERCOSUR.
The legal norm was signed by the President of the Republic, Javier Milei; the Chief of the Cabinet of Ministers, Nicolás Posse and the Minister of Foreign Affairs, International Trade and Worship, Diana Mondino.
On April 18, the Plenary Session of Congress approved, in a second vote, the Agreement for the Elimination of International Roaming Charges for End Users of MERCOSUR, signed on July 17, 2019, which consists of eleven articles.
