The national government has made the Plant Transit Document (PTV) mandatory for the transport of fruits of host species of Anastrepha fraterculus (South American fly) and Ceratitis capitata (Mediterranean fly) throughout the country, starting on November 22.
This was established by the Provision No. 13/2018 , published this Tuesday (23.10.2018) in the Official Gazette with the signature of the national director of Plant Protection of the Food Safety and Quality (Senasa), Diego Quiroga.
Scope of the obligation
DTV, mandatory since Senasa Resolution No. 31/2015, is being implemented gradually. To date, it reaches the movement of Fresh citrus fruit, grapes, peppers, peaches, nectarines, heavy vegetables such as potatoes, sweet potatoes, garlic, onions and Andean tuberss, as well as the movement of fruit fly and codling moth hosts entering from the free zone, the products and by-products of the cotton, and that of the propagation materials (plantines).
Violators of Provision 13/2018 will be subject to the sanctions established in Chapter V of Law No. 27.233, and to the preventive measures that may be adopted according to current regulations.
Free online procedure
Senasa reminds that DTV is broadcast free of charge through self-management through the Sig-DTV computer system, available on the Senasa website. The only requirement to operate is to be duly registered with the Agency.
