E-commerce grew 84% during April in Argentina

Within the framework of social, preventive and mandatory isolation, the billing of sales via electronic commerce in Argentina rose 84% in April alonel, compared to the monthly average of the first quarter of the year, as reported this Tuesday (26.05.2020/XNUMX/XNUMX) by the Argentine Chamber of Electronic Commerce (Hunting).

With the doors of the stores closed due to the mandatory quarantine that has been in effect since March 20, the increase in the number of units sold was 71% last month and 38% in purchase orders issued. 

Furthermore, according to the data of the chamber of the sector, the year 2019 closed with a 76% annual increase in turnover of this type of trade and the first quarter of 2020 maintained the trend, with an increase of 75%.

The report, which was based on a survey of 86 CACE member companies between May 5 and 11, was presented via videoconference by Calvo and the institutional director Gustavo Sambucetti, who also referred to the complaints from some users about delays in product delivery.
