The Customs Brokers Center celebrates 107 years in foreign trade

-

August 16 is a special day: Customs Broker Day is celebrated in Argentina. In conversation with Aduana News, the President of the Customs Brokers Center, Enrique Loizzo, greets the distinguished professionals of Foreign Trade, with the ability to provide adequate advice to importers and exporters. This is an activity that has incorporated professionalism into its management and every day provides better services to its clients.

Below are the words of the President of the Customs Brokers Center.

“Congratulations to our colleagues for their sense of belonging to the Customs Brokers Center. We are the oldest centennial institution in the country, celebrating 107 years in foreign trade.”

It's been 107 years of work, how do you see the future?
“With regard to the future, we, as customs service assistants, are prepared to resolve and work when new regulations are proposed. If there are changes, it will not be the first time that we, as customs brokers, have to adapt. And if there are not, we, as customs brokers, will work to insert ourselves into the world. Our task as a Customs Brokerage Center is to place the broker as the axis of foreign trade in this highly competitive world of exports and imports.”

What achievements does the board of directors mention?
“The greatest achievement is the care of the customs agent. It is the most important thing we have. I emphasize that we work as a team under three fundamental axes: participation, transparency and management. Thus, key results were achieved for the customs service assistants. First, we solved the problem of the common solidarity fund. The issue was not on the agenda but we solved it for good. It is a closed issue. Second, we modified the Statute, we changed fifty years of history, we created a professional and work ethics council, made up of a group of partners which has autonomous citizenship from the board of directors to make decisions about the ethical conduct of the customs agents. In addition, we reformulated the code of ethics, incorporating the concept of “unique” democratization through the figure of minorities to participate in the audit of accounts, three partners from the interior were incorporated as full members of the board of directors. This initiative marks transparency, commitment and participation.

We have ended the membership fee after twenty years of struggle by the Customs Brokers Center. With the approval of the half sanction in the Senate of the Nation, this board of directors advanced in the creation of the Public College of Customs Brokers of the Argentine Republic.”

Is there anything you would like to comment on that I haven't asked you about?
“Finally, I would like to thank the members of the Board of Directors with whom I had the honour of working as a team. To the directors, advisors and professionals, thank you for your commitment to carry out this management.”
