-

As part of its 90th anniversary, the Argentine publishing house Arcángel Maggio is installing an industrial plant in Zona Franca Colonia, with the aim of becoming the largest exporter of books for the region. It will invest five million dollars and expects to have 100 workers in a year. The director of Uruguay XXI, Antonio Carámbula, stressed that this is a sign of the stability and confidence that the country offers to foreign investors.

The company recently told the newspaper El Cronista: “Normally, during a recessionary context, companies tend to contract and this is a good strategy. In the case of Arcángel Maggio, we think that recessions have a turning point and then better times come”, insisted Sebastian Maggio CEO of the company.

The new premises in Uruguay will serve the Arcangel Maggio publishing house's goal of becoming the leading company in the production of novels, school books, and the leading company in the production of Bibles in the region.

The choice of the Colonia Free Trade Zone was due to the “interesting” reception they received from the people who manage the free trade zone and who liked the proximity to the port for everything related to client travel.

It is the first major investment abroad by this Argentine family business and, according to Antonio Carámbula, it is a confirmation of Uruguay's business proposal and the Hub created around it. free zone and is supported by its political and economic stability.
