Appointment of new authorities to the National Foreign Trade Commission

The National Executive Branch officially appointed new authorities to the National Commission on Foreign Trade (CNCE), a decentralized agency operating under the Ministry of Economy's Secretariat of Industry and Commerce.

This is established by the Decree 262 / 2025, published today (10.04.2025) in the Official Gazette, by which the lawyer is appointed María Soledad Britti , the President of the CNCE already a graduate in Economics María José Suárez Villabona , the Board Member. Both professionals meet the suitability and technical experience requirements for these positions, as proposed by the Ministry of Economy.

María Soledad Britti holds a law degree from the University of Buenos Aires (UBA), specializing in State Law (Treasury Attorney's Office). Until now, she served as Manager of Standards and Commercial Instructions at the CNCE, accumulating a recognized career within the organization. María José Suárez Villabona had previously been appointed President of the CNCE by Decree No. 15/2024.

Created in 1994 By Decree No. 766, the National Foreign Trade Commission is the national technical authority in matters of trade defense. Conducts investigations and determines the existence of damage to national production due to imports under conditions of dumping, subsidies or unforeseen increases in imports, recommending the adoption of anti-dumping, countervailing or safeguard measures, as appropriate.

It also analyzes the impact of international trade on local productive sectors and issues technical opinions in accordance with the procedures provided for by current legislation.

These functions determine the central role of the CNCE in the defense of national production against unfair trade practices, within the framework of the commitments assumed by Argentina as a member of the World Trade Organization (WTO), and specifically in accordance with the provisions of the Article VI of the General Agreement on Tariffs and Trade 1994, Agreement on Subsidies and Countervailing Measures, as well as the Safeguards Agreement.
