Today, the presidents of the Oriental Republic of Uruguay, Tabaré Vázquez, and of the Argentine Republic, Mauricio Macri, met in the Colonia department, at the Aarón de Anchorena establishment. The topics that were considered at the meeting were:
1) They analyzed the political and social situation in the Bolivarian Republic of VenezuelaBoth countries call for a democratic solution with free, credible elections and reliable international controls.
2) They analyzed the situation regarding Mercosur. Given its importance, they agreed to relaunch this process of regional integration and its modernization with regard to perspectives and modalities for carrying out trade agreements with countries outside the region or with other regional blocs.
3) They analyzed and expressed their views on economic and trade prospects in the immediate future and in both countries.
4) They agreed to continue holding regular meetings presidential or between the presidential teams to evaluate the progress of the issues raised above.
Finally, they highlighted the excellent relations that both peoples and both governments maintain on both banks of the River Plate.
