In a recorded message, the current president announced a package of economic measures aimed at improving the situation of middle and low-income people who saw their real incomes decline amid a sharp devaluation of the peso. 

Next, let's review the measures: 

Measures for "the pocket"

  1. Bonus for employees in an employment relationship (formal and registered): They will not pay their personal contributions (11% of gross salary) during September and October, with a limit of $2.000 per month benefit(it reaches those with incomes less than 60 thousand gross pesos per month). 
  2. Monotax holders: They are not going to pay the tax component of their fee next month. It is approximately $1.000 pesos per person or up to $4.000 in the highest categoriesValid for those who pay on time and in full. 
  3. Bonus for public workers, armed forces and police: $5.000 to be collected at the end of the month. 
  4. Extra in the Universal Child Allowance: Two extra payments of $1.000 per child, one in September and one in October. 
  5. Increase in the Minimum Living Wage and Mobile Wage: It is not yet known how much, it will be defined with the National Employment Council.
  6. Progresar Scholarships: 40% increase from next month, remains in $2.520 for those who receive the initial scholarship and $6.440 for those who are finishing their degree. 
  7. Income tax for workers: 20% increase in the non-taxable base, which is $55.376 for a single worker and $70.274 pesos for a worker with a spouse and two children. In addition, there will be a refund for taxes already paid in the year, the amounts of which will be defined jointly with the AFIP. This requires approval by Congress. 
  8. Income tax for self-employed workers: they have a 50% reduction in the advances they must pay for the rest of the year.

Measures for SMEs

  1. The AFIP will launch a plan that gives them 10 years to pay off their tax debts due by August 15 (this also applies to self-employed and micro-entrepreneurs). They will have until October to register. 
  2. The number of permanent plans that SMEs can have open at the same time has been increased from 6 to 10.

Measures to alleviate inflation

  1. The price of gasoline and other fuels is frozen for the next 90 days.
