Smuggling: Customs seized millions of dollars worth of drugs in one day

The Federal Public Revenue Administration (AFIP), through Customs, seized this weekend 123 kilograms of cocaine and almost 114 kilograms of marijuana during various border control operations, for an approximate value of 1.350.000 dollars.
 
Cocaine in Pocitos
 
During a vehicle control operation, officials from the Pocitos de Salta Customs Office detected 123 kilograms of cocaine inside a truck coming from Bolivia. The drug, detected using a scanner, was hidden inside boxes of bananas.
 
Bricks of marijuana with a total weight of 23 kilograms were also found. One person was arrested by order of the court involved in the case.   
 
 
Marijuana hidden in cars
 
Meanwhile, in Posadas, Misiones province, 58 kilos of marijuana were seized that were being smuggled into the country hidden in the dashboard and fuel tank of a private car.
 
The drugs were found inside a vehicle with Argentine license plates coming from Paraguay, specially prepared for smuggling. After the discovery, three people were arrested.
 
On the other hand, Customs officials from Clorinda de Formosa detected more than 32,5 kilos of marijuana inside the gas tank of a car with Argentine license plate, in which an Argentine couple was traveling with two minors. 
 
The substance was detected thanks to the help of the anti-narcotics dog Totem and the use of a control scanner.
