Macri's visit to Russia confirmed

Argentine President Mauricio Macri will visit Russia on January 22 and 23, the Argentine Embassy in Moscow announced.

A spokesman for the mission said the Argentine President to visit Russia for two days, from January 22 to 23, according to Sputnik.

The Argentine president is scheduled to meet with his Russian counterpart, Vladimir Putin.

Macri will depart on Sunday 21 from the Ezeiza international airport on a commercial flight of the Lufthansa company to Moscow, with the purpose of discussing with his Russian counterpart an agenda full of bilateral issues; among them the Strengthening Russian trade growth and investments in nuclear energy and shipyards.

The agenda of issues to be discussed by Macri and Putin was defined during the meeting that the Argentine president held with the Russian National Security Adviser, Nicolai Patrushev, at the beginning of December at the Casa Rosada.

At that meeting, a memorandum of understanding was signed so that both nations "establish consultations and exchange views on strategic issues of common interest" as well as to "strengthen collaboration to promote global peace and stability."
