For his part, the head of the national agricultural portfolio, Luis Miguel Etchevehere, highlighted that "We are working to ensure that a larger number of meat plants will join soon, which means strengthening the workforce and the work of Argentines. The achievements we have been obtaining with China show that cooperation in agroindustry plays a key role in this alliance between both countries."
In this way, the new authorizations are added to the 7 poultry meat establishments admitted last week, within the framework of the simplified approval mechanism that both countries agreed to in April this year.
This month, an agreement was also announced with the Asian country to open the market for soy flour, Argentina's largest export product. These achievements are based on mutual trust, respect and the high health guarantees that Argentina offers. in its food production and export.
The newly authorized establishments are: Frigorífico HV SA; Amancay SAICAFI; Frigorífico General Pico SA; Runfo SA; Frimsa SA; Frigorífico Visom SA; SA Importer and exporter of Patagonia and Azul Natural Beef SA.
In 2018, beef exports to China increased by 118% compared to 2017, reaching a total of US$862 million. In this way, China has become the main destination country for our beef. In the first 7 months of 2019, Argentina has already exported US$868 million of beef to that country.
