Chinese customs have seized a large batch of sportswear with designs imitating those of the 2018 FIFA World Cup.
Ningbo customs in eastern China's Zhejiang province announced on Monday (25-6-2018) the seizure of 1.800 football uniforms fake FIFA-labeled sneakers, as well as 14.844 pairs of sneakers with labels from FIFA's commercial sponsors Adidas and Nike.
Customs have contacted FIFA to verify that these products are counterfeit.
The customs of Yiwu city, also in Zhejiang, confiscated 288 fake ballsThe balls were unbranded, but featured the designs of the official World Cup balls.
Yiwu is known as the "world's supermarket" for wholesale goods. Customs inspectors in the city have carried out strict anti-counterfeiting checks and organized public campaigns.

Customs in major export-oriented production bases including Zhejiang, Guangdong and Hubei provinces have launched a campaign against counterfeiting related to the World Cup in March.
As of Monday, Hangzhou customs had seized a total of 32.398 articles that violated the intellectual property rights of the World Cup.
