Thus, the The General Administration of Customs of the Asian giant (GACC) published today a list with seven Argentine companies that "are already authorized to carry out exports under the phytosanitary protocol established between the two countries," Clera reported.
The efforts to open the market began in 2013, when the private sector, together with the Food Safety and Quality Service (Senasa), "began to work together on the implementation of the necessary health protocols to achieve the opening of the Chinese market."
China is expected to import two million tons by July this year, and demand is expected to increase by 10% to 15% in the coming years.
«In this way, Argentina is among the few countries that have implemented a phytosanitary import protocol with the world's main consumer of this legume., which is also the fastest growing consumer market in recent years," Clera explained in a statement.

According to the Rosario Stock Exchange (BCR), legume production in the 2017/18 campaign reached 686.500 tons in Argentina, while exports accounted for 75% of production with 512.000 tons.
