Chile temporarily suspends entry through Los Libertadores

-

Days before Pope Francis' visit to our country, the Los Libertadores border complex announced tonight that it has suspended traffic for small vehicles and buses entering Chile.

According to a statement, The reason for the suspension is due to a failure in the immigration system of the Investigative Police (PDI), “which prevents the complex from functioning properly.”

However, the text reports that the cargo trucks continue to operate normally. Likewise, the Horcones complex in Argentina is operating normally.

The statement did not specify when the problem might be resolved and updates to the route will be communicated through the resort's communication channels.

According to trans-Andean media, up to a million Argentines are expected to cross the Andes between January 15 and 18, the days when the Pope will be in Chile.
