The new Regional Director of the Arica Customs, Fernando Rousseau Friend He took office this Tuesday (02.06.2020/XNUMX/XNUMX), accompanied in person by the Regional Mayor of Arica, Roberto Erpel Seguel, the Governor of Arica, Mirtha Arancibia Cruz and the Seremi of Finance Pablo Arancibia, reported the customs service of the trans-Andean country.
According to the statement, the ceremony, which was attended virtually by a large part of the officials of that regional Customs Office, was led telematically by the National Director of Customs, José Ignacio Palma, who welcomed him from Valparaíso and together with some deputy directors of the Service.
The Mayor, Roberto Erpel, highlighted the professional career of the new Director, pointing out that he is a man knowledgeable about the region and is therefore well aware of the challenges that public servants in the area must face.
For his part, the National Director of Customs, José Ignacio Palma, received him stating that “We are very confident in your management. The Regional Directorate team will support you and we are hopeful that you will quickly become incorporated into the dynamics of the Service. You will be able to properly interpret our principles and values, as well as the management guidelines that we are promoting throughout the country.. "
The occasion also served to thank Osvaldo Osorio for his management over several months in charge of the Regional Directorate.

Fernando Rousseau Friend successfully passed the competition developed by the Senior Public Management System (ADP) of the Civil Service to fill the position. He is a Public Accountant and Auditor from the University of Tarapacá and a Commercial Engineer from the Arturo Prat University of Iquique.
His professional resume includes having had an executive career at the newspaper La Estrella de Arica between 2000 and 2011, where he was General Manager and Commercial Manager.
It has a strong bond with the region and a broad knowledge of Customs and the tax areaSince late 2011 and until before assuming the position of Regional Director of Customs, he was Regional Director of the General Treasury of the Republic of the Arica and Parinacota Region.
