Chile extends border closure until April 22

The Government of Chile announced that it will expand the Closing its borders to non-resident foreigners until April 22 due to the expansion of the new coronavirus, reported this Tuesday (14.04.2020/XNUMX/XNUMX) the Minister of Health, Jaime Mañalich.

«The closure of borders throughout the national territory will be maintained for one more week, until Wednesday 22nd the borders of Chile will be closed», the authority stated.

Chileans and foreign residents entering the country must undergo a 14-day quarantine, the Secretary of State added. 

In addition, the minister decreed new quarantines for the communes of El Bosque and San Bernardo in the southern sector of Santiago and for the urban area of ​​the city of Arica (north), and extended the same restriction for another week in another eight localities in the country that already had the measure.

The three new communes added will enter quarantine this Thursday at 22 p.m.
