With the firm purpose of improving knowledge about the regulations that must be complied with by entrepreneurs dedicated to the export and import of services in the northern region of Chile, the Third session of the Foreign Trade Roundtable (Comex) from Tarapacá, reported a statement from the National Customs Service.

Representatives of the following participated in the meeting: more than 20 public services and a series of training sessions were established to promote the incorporation of new actors into the export process.

La Regional Director of ProChile Tarapacá, Doris Olivares Meyer, explained that the Comex Roundtable seeks to support the diversification of the region's exportable supply so that more entrepreneurs can enter international markets. In this context, he added, “The presence of Customs at this table is vital Because many companies are unaware of the instruments and laws that they must comply with in the internationalization process. And in this regard, Customs has made it easier for us to resolve some issues with exporters and generate spaces for information and knowledge.".

In this context, the Regional Director of the Iquique Customs, Cristian Molina Silva, reiterated the Customs' ongoing commitment to facilitation and support for all stages of international trade, for which he cited some instances such as the Single Window, the Authorized Economic Operator and the digitalization of processes.

El Delegate of the Chilean Customs Chamber in Iquique, Patricio Sesnich Stewart, described the meeting of the Roundtable as very useful “because a number of things were clarified,” adding that “In general there is a lack of knowledge of the work of Customs and there are complaints from the private sector that are unfounded, because the problems they have are due only to a lack of knowledge of the rules, which is why It is good that the Service participates because it clarifies the issues and facilitates the work of exports.".

During the event, it was established that on April 15, a training session on the Integrated Foreign Trade System, Sicex, will be given by representatives of the Ministry of Finance. Also, Customs, SII and ProChile They will generate a seminar on the export of services and will manage training in Certification of Origin and the Authorized Economic Operator.
