Two men who tried to evade police control advanced The Loa (north) were intercepted by inspectors from the National Customs Service and Carabineros.
The procedure led to the seizure of 33 kilos of marijuana that were intended to be transported from Iquique to Antofagasta.
The case took place during the early hours of today (09.08.2023/XNUMX/XNUMX) when the inspectors spotted a parked car with no passengers near the outpost. After that, a search was activated and together with the police they managed to find two men who were walking near the outpost with two black bags.
When checking the bag of the Chilean Customs officers found 17 packages containing 17 kilos of pressed marijuana, while the bag that the suspect was carrying Colombian contained 16 packages with a total of 16 kilos of marijuana.
Both came from Iquique and tried to avoid customs control by walking along the side.
The accused, along with the drugs and evidence, were handed over via chain of custody to the police on duty.
