A total of 120 bottles with false medicinal properties were seized by inspectors of the Chilean National Customs Service at the Quillagua outpost in northern Chile.
According to the statement, the merchandise was hidden in the structure of an interprovincial bus and was destined for the Chilean city of Calama.
The Regional Director of the Iquique Customs, Cristian Molina Silva, señaló que Smuggling was exposed through the use of risk profiling and non-invasive technology.

The 120 bottles, each containing 500 ml, are supposedly of Peruvian origin and lack health authorization. for sale in Chile. They come in boxes and have labels that promise to improve memory, asthma and even prostate problems, pneumonia, osteoporosis, hypertension, diabetes and gastritis.
This type of merchandise, Molina added, was hidden and was not shown or declared by the head of the bus crew, which constitutes the crime of smuggling.
"These are products that are illegally imported into Chile and, in addition to the crime of smuggling, they also put the health of potential consumers of these liquids at risk, given that their real composition and content are unknown."He said.
