The National Director of Customs of Chile, José Ignacio Palma, received in his office in Valparaíso the President of the National Association of Customs Officials of Chile (Anfach), Jacqueline López, to inform her about the Measures taken by the Customs Service to deal with the contingency derived from the advance of the Coronavirus or Covid-19 in the trans-Andean country, the statement says.
The highest authority of Chilean Customs emphasized that all actions taken in recent days have been taken in accordance with the Government's provisions and within the corresponding deadlines, with the main objective of protecting the health of officials and their families.
In this sense, he stressed that this is the line teleworking option and the determination of minimum face-to-face shifts at checkpoints that remain open throughout the country, which also allows us to continue supporting the development of foreign trade to ensure import, export and supply chain logistics flows.
Also, taking advantage of the meeting with the customs union, the current situation of the Institution and the need to work together and with self-care for the good of the National Customs Service.
"There is consensus that we must appeal to the good will of all those who make up the Service and we know that all our officials are absolutely committed to the strategic functions that we perform for the country, so we do not doubt that from wherever we are we will carry out our functions, whenever possible and the contingency allows it.", said José Ignacio Palma after the meeting ended.
